Alex Bamberg, Executive Chairman of ETA Green Power, said: “These are transformational appointments for ETA Green Power. Robert, Matthew and Matt each bring exceptional leadership credentials and a proven ability to grow ambitious technology businesses. As demand accelerates for efficient, integrated electric powertrains worldwide, strengthening our leadership team with this calibre of talent puts ETA in a powerful position to scale rapidly and deliver for customers globally.”
Driving the Next Generation of Electric Mobility

Dr Robert Best joined ETA Green Power with more than 18 years of experience in vehicle and powertrain design, engineering, and manufacturing. He has held senior leadership roles with Queen’s University Belfast, Wrights Group, and most recently Wrightbus, where he served as Chief Technology Officer.
At Wrightbus, Robert led the development of market-leading diesel, hydrogen fuel-cell, and battery-electric buses, helping establish the company as Europe’s number one electric bus manufacturer. He also played a key role in scaling the business from 46 employees in 2019 to more than 2,500 by 2025.

Matthew Wethey joins with more than 25 years of senior financial leadership experience across listed PLCs, private equity-backed organisations, and high-growth technology businesses. A Chartered Accountant (FCA), he has extensive expertise in fundraising, IPOs, investor relations, governance, and scaling finance functions to support growth.
His previous leadership roles include CFO positions with Ryze Power Group, EnSilica PLC and PV Crystalox Solar PLC as well as senior finance roles with British American Tobacco, and Unipart Group.

Matthew Taylor joins ETA Green Power as Chief Product Officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience across automotive engineering, vehicle dynamics, electrification, and growth-stage technology businesses. He will lead product strategy and programme delivery for ETA’s integrated electric powertrain portfolio.
Matt has previously held senior engineering and leadership positions with Prodrive, Ricardo PLC, and Jaguar Land Rover, before going on to serve as Managing Director of ClearMotion and Managing Director of ePropelled. He also held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Lyra Electronics.
Matthew Taylor commented: “Electrification of small transport solutions, particularly in emerging markets, is seeing huge growth. Established and new-entrant manufacturers are looking to implement cost-effective, reliable electric powertrains into their products. ETA’s fully integrated EV powertrain offering significantly reduces risk and time to market while delivering highly competitive efficiency and a market-leading ownership experience.”
Positioned for Rapid Expansion
The appointments underline ETA Green Power’s commitment to delivering industry-leading integrated electric propulsion systems for two-, three-, and four-wheel vehicles, marine applications, and the rapidly expanding land, sea, and air drone sectors worldwide. With strengthened leadership across technology, finance, and product delivery, the company is ideally positioned to accelerate customer programmes, expand internationally, and support the transition to cleaner, smarter mobility across land, water, and air.
